This Privacy Policy explains how RentEase ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application for finding, listing, and renting properties.
Account information (via Google Sign-In). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. We use this to identify your account, associate you with the property listings or inquiries you create, and let owners and tenants recognize each other in chat.
Property listing information. If you list a property as an owner, we collect the details you enter — locality, rent, deposit, property type, amenities, and any photos you choose to attach — and store them so the listing can be shown to prospective tenants.
Photos. The app uses your device's camera or photo gallery only when you choose to attach a photo to a property listing. We only access the specific photo you select — we do not scan or access your full photo library.
Messages. When a tenant contacts an owner about a property, we store the message content, along with the sender's name and email, so the conversation can be delivered and displayed to both parties.
Location search text. When you search for a locality, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim search service to look up matching place names. We do not access or collect your device's GPS location — RentEase does not request or use device location permissions.
Favorites. Properties you mark as a favorite are stored only on your own device (local app storage) and are never transmitted to our servers.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or ad targeting. RentEase does not include any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Listing data, account information, and messages are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), a cloud service operated by Google. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
We retain your account, listing, and message data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the details below — we will remove your data within a reasonable time after verifying your request.
RentEase is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
